A Day of High Level Investment and Industry Updates

Paraplanning Excellence is an intense day of relevant investment-focused learning for paraplanners who want to get ahead. It provides up to the minute product information; trend data; and case study learning on all aspects affecting the busy paraplanner’s role.

This packed day has been put together in association with Invesco Perpetual and Schroders, two of the most substantial asset managers in the country.

This year will be the 7th annual event bringing together 90 investment paraplanners from financial advisory firms across the UK.

  • John Pellegry

    Asian Equities Product Director, Invesco Perpetual

    As Product Director, John is responsible for representing Invesco Perpetual’s Asian equities investment capabilities to external and internal clients. He began his investment career in 1996 at The Bank of New York in Brussels, before joining Credit Agricole Indosuez in Brussels, then JP Morgan Chase in Luxembourg, holding a variety of global custody positions. He joined Invesco in 2003 as an investment communications specialist based in Brussels, before joining Invesco Perpetual’s Asian Equities team in Henley-on-Thames in November 2007 as Product Manager. John holds a BSc in Management from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.

    Credit Fund Manager, Schroders Plc

    Michael Scott is a Credit Fund Manager at Schroders, which involves managing the credit fund strategy. He joined Schroders in 2006 and is based in London. Michael was a Credit Analyst at Schroders from 2006 to 2010, which involved managing European Industrials credit analyst covering IG and HY issuers. Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Geography from Oxford University.

    David Aujla

    Investment Strategist, Managed Funds, Invesco Perpetual

    David is responsible for supporting Invesco Perpetual’s Chief Investment Officer in the management of the firm’s managed funds strategy. He is also responsible for representing the strategy to external and internal clients. David began his investment career with Hargreaves Lansdown in December 2006, and later held positions at Lincoln Financial Group and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. He joined Invesco Perpetual in February 2012, initially in a product communications role supporting the firm’s global equities and managed funds products, before transferring to the investment team in May 2014. David holds a BA (honours) in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Sheffield and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.

  • Georg Elsaesser

    Senior Portfolio Manager - Invesco Quantitative Strategies, Invesco Perpetual

    Georg joined Invesco in 2016 as a Senior Portfolio Manager from Allianz Global Investors where he was a director of their systematic equity division covering global equities. Previously, he worked as sell-side equity and multi-asset strategist at WestLB. Georg also served as an investment analyst in the asset management division of CologneRe, where he focused on equities and asset allocation. He received a “Diplom” degree in Business Mathematics from the University of Dortmund, Germany, in 1999.
