Since 2005, Owen James has run over 150 Meeting of Minds events for the top advisory and wealth management firms in the UK. These events typically have always been run in and around London, with a couple of Northern iterations, and now we are heading to Scotland.

The events have become a trusted platform for key influencers from the largest advisers and wealth managers to work through the key challenges facing the industry alongside providers, consultants, associations and the regulator – with a view of finding ways collaboratively to drive change forward.

Owen James in collaboration with Threesixty are launching this Scottish version of A Meeting of Minds in November 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Dunblane.

James began his career at the Bank of England before moving into the private sector. Prior to joining the firm, he was chief European economist at the Royal Bank of Canada. He has more than two decades of cumulative experience, working across buyside, sell-side and policy-making institutions. James earned a BA in Economics from Durham University in 1999, an MSc in Economics from University College London in 2002 and an MA in International Relations from King’s College London in 2023.

In 2023, Josh released his debut book entitled “Paying it Forward: How to be a social entrepreneur”, which debuted at number 7 on the Sunday Times Best Sellers chart.

Josh has received an MBE from the Queen, which he dedicated to the homeless and marginalized. He has received a Pride of Britain Award, a Robert Burns Humanitarian Award, 5 honorary doctorates and he also made the Debrett’s list of 500 most influential people in the UK.
